The Maiestas Foundation and Thomson Aranzadi have published the book:  “Domestic violence. My experience as a judge”, by José Carlos Orga Larrés, in The Global Law Collection

In his book, the author analyzes the practical consequences of applying the system designed by legislators to combat domestic violence, arguing for the involvement of the courts to be confined to the most serious cases. He concludes that the solution should be sought in education in values, training couples in dialogue and conflict-solving techniques, and creating awareness of the importance of the family in society. He  particularly stresses the essential role of the relationship between the couple as the foundation stone on which the family is built.

José Carlos Orga Larrés became a judge by public examination in 1999. In the last eight years, he has resolved one thousand cases of domestic violence from all possible legal perspectives. At present, he is a judge at the second court of instruction in Logroño. He has spoken widely on this issue on television, and given interviews to the press and radio
