The Maiestas Foundation Maiestas, by way of its local presence in Peru, is participating in the Educational Program on Transversal Approaches to Local Development, which includes a module on Human Rights. This educational program is carried out in the Sierras of Peru, and is financed by the Basque government (a Spanish regional government) and administered by the Valle Grande Rural Studies Institute and the Andean Local Development Network.
A complete understanding of Human Rights is indispensable for the development of Peru’s Sierra of Yauyo rural communities. In the past few years there has been a greater realization that to be successful in the fight against poverty and social exclusion, economic resources on their own are not sufficient. All developmental cooperation assistance must be accompanied by a conscientious sense of the fundamental rights of the individual.
With your help and participation in this educational initiative, the Maiestas Foundation Maiestas is able to reaffirm its commitment to the promotion of the individual person as the central consideration for all cooperation and development efforts.
